sweet 16!

Dear Reece,

Happy Sweet 16! (months, that is!) Today was awesome because we got to spend the day together as a family which only seems to happen one day a week these days! You are the joy and love of our lives! You make us laugh so much, bug, and you're getting bigger and stronger each day. Your silly personality is really coming through and we love everything about you!

Because today was one of our nicest, sunniest, warmest days in awhile, we spent the first part of the day out in the yard. You did your best to help us out, pushing the wheelbarrow around to get all the weeds. I won't lie, you took a couple breaks and we rolled you around the yard in it, too. What fun!

You got a little down-n-dirty out there while we were all working! Is this what it's going to be like every summer day when you're a bit older catching lizards and digging in the yard?!

We also headed over to a new park that doesn't have a ton of sand on it! Yeah! We love watching you explore and climb, slide and rock on all the playground equipment. You're really becoming an outside kid, which we pretty much expected. You're destined to live a life being outdoors here. Now if we could just acclimate you to the beach and sand...
I love this picture of you. This is what you do a lot. You stand back and look at everyone and everything around you. When you're feeling confident you go for it. You are starting to run, especially when Daddy is chasing you!

You've blossomed a lot this month! You're almost 22 lbs, wear a size 3 diaper, and a size 5 shoe. You wear 12-18 month clothing and you discovered today that you really like Fruit Loops! You started in Ms. Deb's 1-yr-old toddler room this month and your speech is really picking up. Mommy and Daddy are going to have to start watching what we say! You have added pancake, sausage, shoe, toes, juice, and boat to your vocabulary. You usually answer every question with "no"...we're gonna have to work on that one!
You also now love to drink out of a straw. We bought you new sippy cups that have straws and you adore them. You feel like such a big boy! You are getting so big so fast!
You also love to listen for planes and point to them when you see them. Everything to you is a bus, even the mail trucks! You are getting sooo smart. I'd love to know what goes on in that little brain of yours!
Reece, we love you so much and can't wait to watch you learn and grow...more and more and more and more!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
